It occurs to Ypsidixit that, regarding the farms mentioned in the article, marginally profitable Washtenaw County farms beleagured by dollar-waving developers might start farming wind as a cash crop. Turbines have a small footprint in a pasture. If the state can kick in a startup loan to set the turbines up, maybe it might be a way for struggling local farmers to hang onto their land, and preserve the rural character of the outcounty.

3 Things to know about Michigan: It's freakin cold and grey for 8 months. The Lions suck and always will. Winter-potholes, Summer-construction.

Well, it's a pretty day today, anyways, under the blue blue sky.

Thanks heaps for the link and plug, Laura. I'd say Michigan really only has 5 months of freakin' grey coldness. I usually try to balance that in my mind with the fact that we have no alligators, killer bees or former movie star governors.

Or giant hissing cockroaches, or unremitting brain-melting swelter.

You're most welcome.

The giant hissing cockroaches sound kind of cool and futuristic. Do you think a few of them could be housed at the soon-to-be-abandonded zoo on Belle Isle?
