One thing I'd like the new person to do is to sit through council meetings for the twp and the city and write them up, as Eric * suggested some time ago. The chief editor should know all the details of stuff that's going on, and should be reporting it to his or her readers.
One thing I hope they don't do is a Heritage idea to bump circulation by putting a different local kid's picture in the paper each week. Not only will it not bump circulation, it'll waste space with fluff instead of news. * * * * * * * * * * * *
