All Washtenaw County residents: PROPOSAL A:
Proposition to increase the tax limitation to enhance public safety by providing funding to renovate the jail and increase jail capacity, construct a district court and residential probation center and pay for operational costs related to the jail and jail diversion programs.
�Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be imposed each year for all purposes on real and tangible personal property in Washtenaw County, Michigan be increased as provided in Section 6, Article IX of the Michigan Constitution and the Board of Commissioners of the County be authorized to levy a tax not to exceed three quarters of one mill ($0.75 per $1,000 of state equalized valuation) on the taxable value of such property for a period of twenty years, beginning with the December 1, 2005 tax levy, (which will generate estimated revenues of $9,600,000 in the first year) to enhance public safety by acquiring, constructing and renovating an upgrade and addition to the Washtenaw County jail, the 14-A District Court, a Probation Residential Facility, and mental health diversion and treatment facilities, and operating the jail and jail diversion programs designed to provide alternative rehabilitation for appropriate individuals?�

YPSIDIXIT VOTES: YES (the desperately overcrowded jail is leading to early-releases and police apathy about pursuing warrants)

For Ypsi Twp residents (4 proposals): PROPOSAL E:
(Fire Protection, Prevention, Rescue Services and Equipment Reserves)
"Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 2.8 ($2.80 per $1000), for a period of four (4) years from 2005-2008 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for fire protection, prevention, rescue services and equipment reserves? The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $4,203,492."

YPSIDIXIT VOTES: YES (a vital service)

PROPOSAL F:
"Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 3.5 ($3.50 per $1000), for a period of four (4) years from 2005-2008 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for law enforcement services, community policing/neighborhood watch and ordinance enforcement? The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $5,254,365."

YPSIDIXIT VOTES: YES (viewing a well-funded police force as essential)

PROPOSAL G:
"Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 1.0059 ($1.01 per $1000), for a period of four (4) years from 2005-2008 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for recreation / parks facilities, bike paths, repair of sidewalks, roads and general operating purposes? The first year of this levy shall generate estimate revenue of $1,510,105."

YPSIDIXIT VOTES: YES (hoping that more people will pursue non-gas transportation)

PROPOSAL H:
"Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 1.68 ($1.68 per$1000), for a period of four (4) years from 2005-2008 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for Garbage, refuse collection, recycling, composting and disposal of solid waste? The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $2,522,095."

YPSIDIXIT VOTES: NO (our garbage service is currently lavish--we could cut back a bit here)
