Kind of like a semi-bubble which supposedly reduce wind resistance. I dunno--they seem more trouble than they're worth. Although they supposedly reduce wind resistance, they could also, in my reckoning, serve as a sort of sail that could actually increase wind resistance depending on the wind angle.
