Ypsi is still trying to catch up with the housing shortage for workers at the bomber plant. Ooops! Too late.

I wonder what a count of empty existing apartments around campus might tell us? Maybe renters are holding out to buy condos at Water Street. Or rent a spare room in the Presidential Palace.

I used to live in Jones Hall, back when Jones and Goddard were the Honors dorms, and wondered why it was closed off. Great dorm. Old woodwork in the lobby and a relatively large amount of space. Bummer that it's closed.

One does struggle to see the logic in closing nice dorms and building new apartments in the path of a train more or less. Of course, it wasn't EMU but Edwards who decided to build the apts...but clearly no one involved saw the wisdom of using existing dorm space. I wonder where this will lead.

Wow, $625+ seems like a lot to me for a one bedroom apartment in Ypsi.

Not if you can catch carp ten feet from your bedroom window. You can't put a price on that.

I can see it now: streamers of monofilament glistening in the sun, sparkles bouncing off the surface of the rushing water as carp fight the hook, grinning faces in the open windows, tense hands gripping poles high above the vinyl-clad walls beside the Mighty Huron... Ah, Ypsi! you make my heart clack pitty-pat.

And all the kids can throw stones at the new cars packed on the trains that go by. If new cars ever go by packed on trains again.

Sure; I see that fairly frequently. I'd stil like to see a fence go up between the apts. and the open track, however, for safety.

It only took a year or two for the newer complex right across the river from Edwards (East side of river) to become known as "the new ghetto" I would say the edwards complex fights for that honor and receives it by 2007.
