MDOT helped pay for the Riverside Arts Center walk-through. It's a designated Michigan Scenic Overlook. It is rather pretty (as long as you don't look at RAC's dumpster where building users toss bags down the hill and miss the trash bin. we picked up 6 or 7 bags friday).

Supposedly the RAC gallery is open Saturday until 9pm. The pinball exhibit is worth a visit. Several machines are available to play. I dumped a handful of nickels into the Slick Chick Friday. There's a reception Friday afternoon, but other times there's no waiting to play.

A pinball exhibit? That sounds interesting. I might have to check it out next weekend.

Maybe I will treat myself to a dinner at Haab's too. I havent eaten there in over a year.

The walk-through is nicely done. I didn't know it was an official scenic overlook. One wonders how these people find the scenic overlooks around the state. You could do worse than be a Scenic Overlook Scout, wandering at will around the state.

Raymond, that is a great tip about the pinball machines exhibit. It would be very fun to play one.

I note the hours of the gallery are Wed. noon-6, Thurs.-Sat. noon-9, and Sunday 1:30-4 p.m. Info line is 761-3661.

The pinball machines are all from the collection of one man, David Silverman, who owns over 300 vintage pinball machines--the exhibit supposedly has 29 on display.

That exhibit has been in the works for a while. My girlfriend, Kate(extrordinary), is a Fine Arts Managemanet student at Emu. She hand in a little bit of the planning with Robin at the RAC. Being that it is one of her instructors, I usually get a preview of whats happening in the next year or so. when the shcedule came out last year, Pinball was one of the ones I really wanted to see as well as the Cartoon exhibit this past year. Damn this North Carolina! Also, check out Ford Gallery on campus, always interesting items and shows goin on there.
