The Story - 2005-02-25 20:57:40

Ypsilanti Sentinel, April 1, 1846: A PROMISING YOUTHWe learn from the Ann Arbor Argus that Mr. E. B. Chase formerly Editor of the Ypsilanti True Democrat, has taken his exit, his cue being given him in the form of a warrant, on a complaint for seductionrather awkward for a married man!

He went west, we understood, on the Railroad, he must have felt very peculiar as he passed through Jackson. Perhaps he wanted that law repealed, but for which, by expending a few dollars, he might have passed along among his acquaintances, fostered his inordinate self conceit, and enjoyed many a silly joke at the expense of the simple victim of his baseness.

Now that we expel this sort of criminal from our borders, ought not some means to be taken to inform the community in which they chance to settle, of their character?

We wish our remark not to be understood as intended to reflect upon the character of the True Democrat. We have no doubt the friends of that print will take measures to continue its publication and increase its usefulness [yeah, right. Never mind that the scandal was probably the best thing to happen to the Ypsi Sentinels circulation sincewell, sliced bread hadnt been invented yet.].

Ypsidixit wondered if this item was meant as an April Fools joke, but its censorious gravity hints that its not.

Also, its unclear to her what that law is.

Adults behaving sillily for simple victims gather tonight at 8pm at 301 North Park Street, Ypsilanti, southeast of the railroad depot, north side of the tracks.

Hark! Hark!
The dogs do bark.
The artists are coming to town!
"Art, art, art," barked Picasso's dog.

Sounds like fun Raymond. I hope the group can make their studio plans succeed.

I think I can see 301 North Park Street from my house. I have to go do lots of physical labor for a non-profit I am part of today so I'll most likely be feeling anti-social this evening but I'll wave at all the artists from my porch

Scott: not very atmospheric, sounds like. The only military sound effect in the sky above my house is one I like--from the huge WW II-era bomber cruising impossibly slowly overhead as it glides back to the Yankee Air Museum.
