If those meddlers and morons knew the extent to which that which they would ban is available they'd flip. Not only can we get it from our libraries, from Amazon, from ABE, from the corner grocery (homo literature, pulp, and trash) we can write it ourselves. It's a genre as difficult to eradicate as dandelions. Unfortunately, they seem ready and willing to try at whatever cost.

That's true. It's crucial, however, that kids be exposed to diverse voices in schools. After graduating and getting mired in job/mortgage/marriage there's lots less of a chance they'll be exposed to literature or even want to read it. One great book that sinks into the soul in high school can make a difference in a ballot box twenty years hence.
