You know the publisher smalled a dead book when they sent the Elbow Room hundreds of promotional swag / coasters. You can have a few thousand just by asking the bartendress I'm sure.

I had no idea books were publicized by bar coasters. If I'm understanding you correctly, Leighton--that just seems so strange to me somehow. I guess they thought college kids 1. might be at the bar and 2. might be interested in the book since it's about college? Is the design on the coaster the same as on the pictured cover? Just wondering. Thanks Leighton.

Coasters indeed. They had the same collegiate block lettering and cryptic messages as the cover. I doubt the few EMU students who frequent the place would be into the book at all. Too busy making fun of old authors online.

Coasters are a bizarre marketing ploy. I don't think college kids would be into the book much--and neither were the Christian Science Monitor nor the New York Times.
