I've been trying for a while to figure out the map with the red box and arrow. The arrow seems to point at the bottom corner of the original French Claim, sort of below the post office around the church and the shopping center. I don't understand why the arrow points there.

Our hovel is on former Graves property that was on the east side of Whittaker. The bulk of the original farm on the west side of Paint Creek all the way over to Hitchingham Road is now a big, ugly settlement of subdividians.

Oops, sorry, Raymond, I drew the arrow to point up to the little enlarged bit next to the map on the extreme right, just to draw the connection between Lyman Grave's farmsite and its excerpted enlargement. Sorry for the confusion.

The kinds of local connections that keep surfacing on this blog are fairly amazing. I was surprised to read you're on former Graves land, Raymond--that's really interesting.

I'm sorry to hear about the subdivisions. There's probably still a broken horseshoe or two deep under those subdivision basements, or maybe waiting a foot under the surface in a back yard.
