It always strikes me that nonfiction books that give an unblinking look at war's actual cost are called, as this book has been called, "anti-war." Implicit in that label is the misleading supposition that the nonfiction book is a politically slanted tract--instead of recognizing the fact that war is intrinsically wrong.
