Well, the Daily Show has more currency than the evening news in the younger demographic. I like it better, of course, but hey, I'm really bitter.

His book is supposed to be quite good, too. It's on my list.

I have had reporters call me based on things I wrote in the blog a year or more ago. No surprise that blogs are searchable.

Jon Stewart's "America: The Book" is a hoot. The more American history you know, the funnier it is.

The reviews I've read have all raved about it. I've seen the "shadow government" chart that comes with it, but haven't read the book yet. Sounds from what you say, Larry, that Stewart is no slouch on history, which perks up my ears--I'd rather read a meaty, detailed parody/satire than some piece of fluff. I'll have to scout around for a reasonably-priced copy this weekend.

Blogs are big in google. There was something I was googling for the other day--it was either granny flats/adus or the private dorm off North Campus--and kept getting hits from Goodspeed Update, Arbor Update, Common Monkeyflower, and AAiO. I would think, "Hey, it's really cool that there are people out there talking about this stuff, since there don't seem to be any official sources for it," if it weren't for the fact that i already know/am those sources, so they weren't helpful in this case.

Oops, I see that I wasn't very clear in my original, pre-caffeinated post. I meant to say: the baby blog story turned up on Google's *news page*, with all the usual newspaper stories, not just regular Google. Sorry about the unclearness. So, I was startled to see a blog sitting there among the Washington Post stories and New York Times and what have you.
