Mister Bush not only can run, he can hide, like Osama.
I remember thinking when I saw a suave Kennedy and sweaty Nixon blabbering like toothpaste salesmen on a flickering yet mesmerizing black and white television, "This could lead to something bad."

The ad's blatant scare tactic, done in such a primitive way, is what got me. One more reason never to watch TV again--it's so dumbed down.

Let me guess, this ad probably includes the phrase "JOHN KERRY AND THE LIBRULS IN CONGRESS" repeated over and over again ad nauseam. If not, it would be a new thing for the Gee Dumbya campaign.

To my knowledge, the ad has no text at all, although doubtless there's some Bush logo or something at the end. It's gonna air only in the "battleground" states, so Michigan viewers should be seeing it pretty soon.

I have a post-election snippet to perform on Nov 4 & 5. I've had a verse worked out for re-election for quite a while. I suppose to be safe I should cook something up in the unlikely event of W's leaving office. Of course, we really won't know who's next until January.

If ever (thanks, Diebold).

"Although it may be hard to remember amid the hyperbole and the hysteria of a presidential race so endless that it has encompassed two Britney Spears marriages, either George W. Bush or John Kerry will deliver his inaugural address in just 90 days."

You can see the ad here. I must warn you, it's so incredibly lame. Is this is the best they can do? And what are they implying about wolves? After hundreds of years, people are finally starting to get the "big, bad wolf" image out of their heads - the image that almost led the species to extinction. I find it utterly irresponsible for this administration to portray wolves again in this fashion. The last thing this country needs are some dumbass hillbillies shooting up wolves 'cause they think they're Al Qaeda

Lame! There's text; it's a woman with a mildly British accent warning us that the wolves are waiting to do us harm. I thought the wolves were cute. Is the Bush campaign out of its collective mind? I was a bit surprised that they didn't mention that the woods were in the evil state of Massachusetts, where... *gasp* Ted Kennedy lives.

http://wolfpacksfortruth.org/ " They told us we were shooting a Greenpeace commercial! When the camera crew showed up, we wondered why they were all driving Hummers. Our agent assured us it was a Greenpeace commercial and they paid TWICE our hourly steak rate. Little did we know we were being tricked into this vicious campaign attack ad. "

Leighton--how funny! I had to laugh. Yet they manage to make some points on the page, too--with "Alpha Frank" (complete with photo) worried about air pollution due to Bush policies--clever.

I finally saw part of this ad. It reminds me of the 1984 Ronald Reagan ad with footage of a bear in the woods and a similar, scary sounding voiceover about how the bear is out to get us but some people want to pretend he isn't there and yadda yadda blah blah. When I first saw that one I thought it was going to be an ad for Merrill Lynch or some other investment company (you know, since the bear and bull imagery is so common in the financial world). It wasn't until the end of the ad that it was revealed to be a Reagan for President ad. Then it made sense...the bear stood for the Soviet Union.

Yes--I've heard other people make the same comparison to this other "scary" animal ad. Oddly enough, I just got some free address labels in the mail yesterday with pictures of wolves. I had the fleeting thought that perhaps someone would have a new negative association with wolves, if I used them, because of that silly commercial.
