Yes, it's open to the public--what a rare chance to see him!

Gosh, I'm sure you guys will understand the talk, but why would you want to go hear him talk about things academic? I'm not far from the field, and *I* would find it boring.

Oh, I love everything linguistic...and although I'm no longer in school, I enjoy things academic (and unacademic). But going mostly to bathe in the Chomsky star-power.

Prof Chomsky will also be giving the U of M Faculty Senate Lecture on Academic and Intellectual Freedom on Thursday October 28, 4 pm at the Honigman Auditorium of the U of M Law School (Hutchins Hall, Rm 100). I am aware of his work in linguistics, but much more into his writings on U.S. foreign policy and international relations.

It would probably take a posthumous visit from Einstein himself to convince me that a talk that I didn't absolutely have to go to would be worth it! Hmm... I do sound like I'm suffering work-related burnout, don't I?

Vince--that's a great tip; thank you! Yes, his blog (link on the front page, on the left bottom) deals with his penetrating political analyses.
Anna: :)
