Haha! I shouldnt laugh. I really shouldnt. Because as a taxpayer in this city, it isnt really all that funny. I like the idea of putting up banners. Maybe I'll hang one from my upstairs window that says "cool house" Or maybe not.

well, I have to admit I'm a taxpayer in the township, not the city, but I do try to concentrate shopping in the city come weekends. There's no way I'll buy my peat-pots at AA's trendy Downtown Home and Garden in lieu of Congdon's Ace Hardware.

No cool banners here. Just "PRIVATE PROPERTY" and "NO TRESPASSING" signs at the entry. The buildings are hidden behind trees and brush. "Where the hell are they going?" drivers behind us seem to wonder as they gape at us after we turn onto the lane. Once we arrive in the greenery it's usually about 5 degrees cooler than in the asphalt city, though.

I've noticed that on the secret path behind the stadium, too--after coming off the hot Oakwood, it seems at least 10 degrees cooler on the treesy path.
