I'm GLAD you included him in your blog. I was so taken with the reading of one of his poems on NPR that I ordered one of his books that evening, and received it today! I love his work, and it's so fun being introduced to him.

Thanks Addiann--do you remember which poem of his he read that you liked? How do you like the new book so far? I understand he has 10 in print.
The poet laureate program intro'd me to Collins, whose work I was immediately entranced by.
I personally think the Poet Laureate idea should extend beyond the national and state level and go to city level--apparently Detroit had a PL at one point, and I see no reason why Ypsi shouldn't have one, too. Any nominations?

No, I don't remember the title of the poem he read, only that it was so straight-forward yet strikingly poetic and lovely that I could hardly get to Amazon's site fast enough. I am now the pleased owner of "Delights and Shadows" and will savor the discovery of these beauties slowly over time. Not really a follower of poets, plays and novels are my thing, but this guy has my attention for sure.
