Summers in Michigan are the best. They are just too short though.

Just had a nice week of summer vacation. We went to, of all things, a rodeo in our little hometown of Gaines just southwest of Flint. Then to Pine Knob (I refuse to call it DTE Energy Music Theater) to see the Dead. It was a great show! The four original members of the Grateful Dead (Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Mickey Hart and Billy Kreutzmann) are as good as ever, and the new members (especially Warren Haynes, who is also in the Allman Brothers and Government Mule) have definitely picked up where Jerry Garcia left off! Go see the Dead if you get a chance! Then to the Muskegon area where we camped out next to Lake Michigan and went to the Michigan Adventure amusement park! It brought back memories of going to the now-defunct BobLo Island amusement park which was near Detroit but technically in Canadian territory.

Lynne: I dunno, just the thought of three-months-and-that's-it kind of makes me savor summer more, though I like fall best.
Sounds like a great time, Vince. I remember Boblo...rather, I remember dropping my stuffed tiger Tiger Baby over the side of the boat and being totally bereft.
I think everyone I know refuses to call Pine Knob by its newer name. Odd that that's not true for Comerica Park.

Comerica Park=New Tiger Stadium! Although I liked the old one better...actually got to take batting practice there when I played high school baseball many years ago. The team I was on made the playoffs and the game was at Tiger Stadium. It was quite a thrill to be on the same field where Al Kaline once played!
