I'll have to track down this book and read it. Does it make any mention of Woody Guthrie and his song "This Land is Your Land." Everyone sings that song in elementary school, but they leave out the two most political verses: one that is anti-private property and another that talks about people standing in welfare lines during the Great Depression. Schoolchildren also do not generally learn about Woody Guthrie's left wing political leanings. I mean, we wouldn't want them to grow up to be Socialists or Greens or anything like that! They must be taught that they only have two choices...Coke and Pepsi, oops I mean Demublican and Republicrat!

Vince, the book in fact mentioned the missing lyrics; here they are:

"Was a big high wall there that tried to stop me
A sign was painted, said 'Private property.'
But on the other side it didn't say nothing.
This land [sometimes "That side"] was made for you and me."

"One bright sunny morning
In the shadow of the steeple
By the relief office I saw my people
As they stood hungry, I stood there wondering
If God blessed America for me."
