and indeed it is!! We're just hesitant to comment because we've either been there and we're still occasionally freaked about foot cancer, and/or hesitant to reveal how ancient we are, or, we feel we shouldn't laugh out loud (online) about the location (and timeline) of the last shoe xray machine.

Ah, no matter; it's OK :) At any rate, the subject just captivated me--the blithe manner in which 1890s people submitted themselves to x rays is well nigh horrifying, especially considering that dosages were much higher then. The whole thing has made me very wary of future x rays.
