Keep an eye out for hummingbird moths too. Just like with the birds- you cannot believe your eyes. http://www.birds-n-garden.com/hummingbird_moths.html

Wow, that is amazing. I love those little guys :) Who would have thought that you could find one in Ypsilanti?

Also wow--Patrick, I never knew such a creature existed! It looks amazingly like a hummingbird, and the other moths on that page area fairly astounding, too. Just amazing. Thanks for the link!
Lynne, I was amazed. As of this weekend I now have a whole bed full of tempting red flowers so I'm hoping to see one again. One hummingbird variety found in MI migrates across the Gulf of Mexico, if you can believe that.

Patrick's hummingbird-moths page links to an excellent page showing which plants to grow to attract butterflies, hummers, and other birds to the garden. Thanks again Patrick--that's information I was looking for.

Get a stick-on window feeder, they work.

I have a hanging hummingbird feeder but every time I make the nectar solution it turns rancid in the feeder...I'll keep an eye out for a stick-on feeder; thanks gobo.
