In today's Detroit Free Press story "Rumsfeld visits Abu Ghraib prison" it's said: "A day after House and Senate members saw fresh photos of abuse at Abu Ghraib, Rumsfeld told reporters that administration reporters oppose releasing the photos on grounds that it would violate Geneva Conventions stricture against presenting images of prisonerss that could be construed as degrading."

The Guardian reports that "The liberal Boston Globe said Mr Rumsfeld had "helped create a climate of lawlessness among the captors" in the Abu Ghraib prison by saying that the US was not bound by the Geneva conventions governing treatment of prisoners of war."
