That is unfortunate. One thing that is really cool about Ypsilanti is all the old buildings. Places like that old paper mill can often be converted into loft space that has just a little more character than some new luxury development.

One does wonder why they apparently didn't think of converting it...I did see pictures of the new building at the last planning meeting...it's kind of a bland Colonial. The beautiful old giant-windowed ancillary building across the river might be next if it's on paper mill property within the little park there...now, that would be a real shame. I love that ruin.

peter murdock's actions proved instrumental in saving the ruin on the north side of the river as part of the park. many people still detest pete and deny his good work. nothing is safe.

welcome, Raymond! Thank you for the info. I'm afraid I don't know about this person...might you have a bit more equally interesting info about this preservationist (?) and why he is apparently so disliked by some?
