Old and Cranky - 2004-03-01 10:15:41 Old and Cranky, I agree with you. I do have all her novels, and I loved the sweeping saganess of The Good Earth, but I find the other ones not as good...certainly nothing like the mighty and overall consistently good (and somewhat better) ouevre of Singer. Buck's bio makes for good reading--she had quite an interesting life overseas as, if I remember right, a missionary's daughter. p.s. may I ask which alma mater? just curious.* * * * * * * * * * * * Old and Cranky - 2004-03-03 09:17:46 I went to Randolph-Macon Woman's College, as did she. It's a small school, so she's most definitely our Most Famous Grad.* * * * * * * * * * * * Laura - 2004-03-03 22:36:06 Oh. Thanks. I was just curious. From what I've read of this debacle since last posting few are taking her very seriously.* * * * * * * * * * * * add your comment: |
