Sorry, but all your links are going to the first eagle. And wow, is it an eyesore.

The deflated Earth under the eagle is the perfect thing for that Hummer dealership. Only one in MI, but it's a good one. The Lansing Public Library was the second eyesore he ever posted. Looks kinda like a crematorium to me: http://www.kunstler.com/eyesore_199804.html

oops, sorry Michael--checked it & it should work, but since it ain't I'll delete that part. Sorry about that. Hillary, thanks for pointing that out--missed that one. Like a crematorium, or a giant Lego.

The sculpture on the corner of Fourth and Catherine in Ann Arbor is a contender, in my book. The plaza is nice, don't get me wrong, but that sculpture is from An Era That Will Never Return.
Film at 11:00.

Funny, that sculpture is right across from my workplace, the Ann Arbor Observer, and I see it every day. Well, the sculpture doesn't say anything to me...it seems lifeless...but I must say that plaza is filled with people all through the spring and summer. Piles of lunchtime folks. It seems to be a welcoming space, despite the rather pointless sculpture...

Thanks, Laura-- I had no idea Kunstler had a website. I love the guy-- his books The Geography of Nowhere and Home From Nowhere are wonderful.

Ooh, and if you check the lecture schedule you'll find he'll be at UM March 5!

Thank you Brandon--I was enthralled by his website, and thought about buying his books--hearing from you that they are apparently as good as his site indicates they might be has just made me put them on the list for the next Amazon buy. And thanks for the heads-up about the lecture! Looks like he'll be at the Art & Arch. building on North Campus.
